Located in the southern part of Settsu-kyo Park, this is the largest open space in the park. There are around 230 cherry trees planted here. Sakura Hiroba gets very busy in spring with lots of people coming to see the cherry blossoms.

A large rock on the path that climbs up alongside Shirataki waterfall. This strange-looking rock set high up on the hill is one of the highlights of a walk in Settsu-kyo.

A well-known spa spot with concentrated alkaline sodium bicarbonated hot spring water: these waters soften your skin, soothing your body with gentle cleansing and moisturizing properties. A social education facility set in the natural surroundings of Settsu-kyo, offering outdoor activities and recreation. There are permanent tents, lodges, and log houses on-site, as well as an outdoor stage. Reservations required. surrounding area
Akutagawa mountain castle on the banks of the Akuta-gawa river was built in 1516, and is said to be one of the largest structures of its type in the Kansai region. The key features here are the trench, designed to stop the enemy from entering, the earthworks and the ruins of the living quarters. Castle lovers will be especially interested in the stone walls. This type of wall was rare in castles of this era. They still stand even to this day.

Kabusan-ji is a temple of the Tendai sect built in 774. It is one of the sacred Buddhist places known as shichi-kozan ("Seven tall mountains"), along with other mountains such as Mt. Hiei. This is a scenic spot with views that change with the seasons: fresh green leaves in spring, fiery red leaves in autumn, or a blanket of white snow in winter.

A farm shop selling doboroku and amazake. They are made with Hinohikari rice, a rice imbued with the natural blessings of Hara region. On Sundays, the shop also sells freshly-made soba noodles (Soba noodles available on Sundays only from 11:00AM to 2:00PM, or as long as stocks last).

A museum with a whole range of fun things to see and do by the water. There is also a huge waterfall, a small babbling stream, and a floating stage. You can see the fish that live in the Akuta-gawa river and hakusei (stuffed animals) of animals that used to live in the area.

The Orochi festival takes place here every year in early April. It features an "orochi" (monster serpent) made of rice straw woven together. The festival is designated as an "important intangible folk culture asset." It is a long-established community tradition which heralds the onset of spring.

In ancient times, it is said that products from the northern part of Settsu-kyo, such as specialty goods and agar, used were transported by cattle through Kyosakagoe down to Maejima Beach by the Yodo River. The story goes that the place where Ushi-jizo is now located was a resting place along the journey for the cattle and their carts.

The view at Jozenji is known as one of the eight beautiful scenic views of Hara area, with a stunning outlook across the whole area. During the rice planting season you can see a carpet of blue stretched out before your eyes, turning to gold at harvest time.
